Minister of Foreign Affairs heads to New York to participate in Two-state Solution Conference

Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzough, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, left the capital Nouakchott last night for New York City to participate in the Two-State Solution Conference, which will be held there on July 28 and 29.

This ministerial conference is being held under the chairmanship of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, in the context of the initiative launched by Saudi Arabia and France several months ago, and as an important prelude to an international conference to be held in Paris or New York on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the 80th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly in the second half of September, with the aim of recognizing the State of Palestine.

The Minister is accompanied by an important delegation from his sector, including:

HE Hassan Ahmedou, Ambassador-in – charge of the  Office of the Minister; HE Mokhtar M’Baba, Ambassador, Director of Multilateral Cooperation, United Nations; HE Ahmed Mohamed El-Doua, Ambassador, Director of Communication and Information; HE Diop Mohamed Dioulde, Ambassador, Director of Protocol at the  Ministry.
