The Mauritanian-Spanish Business Council held a meeting in Nouakchott on Wednesday morning, attended by representatives of the two governments and the private sectors of the two countries, as part of the growing dynamism of bilateral relations between Mauritania and Spain.
The meeting discussed the progress made by the joint sectoral committees in various fields, including infrastructure, energy, agriculture, fisheries and trade.
Participants also discussed the ongoing preparations for the organization of the Mauritanian-Spanish Economic Forum, which is expected to be a strategic platform to promote investment cooperation and transfer of expertise.
The meeting comes in the context of the Mauritanian-Spanish Joint Higher Committee, which is witnessing a new session that reflects the political will of the two countries to elevate the partnership to more comprehensive and effective horizons.
The Joint Business Council is seen as one of the pivotal mechanisms in supporting economic cooperation, by connecting businessmen, stimulating investment projects, and exploring promising opportunities in both Mauritania and Spain.
