Inauguration of the Abdullah bin Omar Center for Islamic Studies and Arabic Language in Seliblaby

The Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Sidi Yahya Ould Cheikhna Ould Lemrabott, together with the Wali of Guidimagha, Mr. Dahmane Ould Beirouk, inaugurated on Monday evening in Selilbaby the Abdallah Ben Omar Center for Islamic and Linguistic Studies in Selilbaby (an Islamic complex concerned with fatwa and religious guidance).
After the inauguration, the Minister made a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency: “I am honored to be with you today at this Islamic monument, the Abdallah Ben Omar Center for Islamic and Linguistic Studies, which is inaugurated today, an institute that we hope will play other roles such as fatwa, religious guidance and educating the community in Selibaby and the wider region, and we will do everything necessary to provide it with the necessary materials, including the formation of a scientific committee specialized in religious guidance, education and community learning.”
He added that all the programs offered by the center will be coordinated with the local radio station in Selibaby and the lessons will be offered in all national languages. We ask Allah to play the role we expect it to play in supporting the religious constants and in fortifying society and its faith from foreign ideas, pests and phenomena alien to our society and our values and morals.
The inauguration was attended by the Secretary General of the Mauritanian Scholars Association, Mr. Cheikh Ould Saleh, the Vice President of the Regional Council, Mr. Wali Boubou Diaoura, the Governor of Selibaby Province, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdallah, and military and security authorities.
