Joint statement by Arab and Islamic Countries, including Mauritania, emphasizes the Need to stop Israeli Hostilities Against Iran

In light of the rapid regional developments and the escalation of tension to unprecedented levels in the Middle East as a result of the Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Brunei Darussalam, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Chad, the Republic of Gambia, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Union of Comoros, the Republic of Djibouti, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Sudan, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Republic of Iraq, Oman and the State of Qatar.
– Reject and condemn the Israeli attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran since the dawn of June 13, 2025, as well as any practices that violate international law, the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations, and the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, the principles of good neighborliness and the settlement of disputes by peaceful means.
– Expressing grave concern over this dangerous escalation, which threatens serious repercussions on the security and stability of the entire region, and emphasizing the need to stop Israeli hostilities against Iran, which come at a time when the Middle East is witnessing increasing levels of tension, and the importance of working to reduce tension to reach a ceasefire and a comprehensive truce.
– Emphasize the importance of ridding the Middle East region of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction in accordance with the relevant international resolutions and without selectivity, and stress the need for all countries in the region to accede to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) as soon as possible.
– Emphasize the necessity of not targeting nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards in accordance with the relevant IAEA and Security Council resolutions, as this represents a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law under the Geneva Charter of 1949
– The need to return to the path of negotiations as soon as possible as the only way to reach a sustainable agreement on the Iranian nuclear program.
– Emphasize the importance of respecting the freedom of navigation in international waterways in accordance with the relevant rules of international law, and not undermining the security of international navigation.
– Emphasizing that the only way to resolve crises in the region is through diplomacy, dialogue and commitment to the principles of good neighborliness in accordance with the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, and stressing that the current crisis cannot be resolved by military means.
