The election of our country’s candidate as president of the African Development Bank Group is an honor for Mauritania and a victory for its soft diplomacy, according to economists, Malian experts and diplomats.
In this regard, economist Mr. Mohamed Ould El Abed said that the success of our country’s candidate, Mr. Sidi Ould Tah, for the presidency of the African Development Bank Group has several connotations, including that our country has regained its place in its African continent, in its Arab world and in its international relations in general.
He explained that the percentages obtained by Mauritania’s candidate, starting from the first round and ending with his overwhelming success by more than 76%, prove that countries today are giving Mauritania its rightful place as a result of the wisdom with which His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, managed the many files entrusted to him, both in his capacity as Chairman of the African Group and as an Arab leader who had a decisive presence on the international stage for the issues of the African continent, especially the debt, which His Excellency continues to call in various platforms to settle it to enable the continent to meet the various challenges of development.
He wished success and empowerment to the elected President of the AfDB Group, whose long experience, expertise and dedication will enable him to fulfill his duties to the fullest.
Diplomat and UN expert Mr. Ahmedou Ould Abdallah stressed that the success of Mr. Sidi Ould Tah is a pride for the country as the first position for Mauritania at this level in the African continent, stressing that his academic training and his administrative experience in the government and the Arab African Bank is a success for the continent and its relationship between the new countries to finance them, especially in the fields of minerals and agriculture, which are at the forefront of the continent.
For his part, university professor and banking expert Mr. Moulay Abdelkader Ould Moulay Ismail congratulated H.E. President of the Republic Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani on Mauritania’s victory in the presidency of the African Development Bank Group, noting that this remarkable success is an extension of the successes of Mauritanian diplomacy, such as the presidency of the African Union last year, which is a remarkable economic and diplomatic success.
