AfDB’s President-elect Affirms to President Republic his Commitment to Transparency, Integrity, Accountability

Immediately after his victory was announced, Mr. Sidi Ould Tah, Mauritania’s candidate for the presidency of the African Development Bank (AfDB), expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, in a phone call. Ould Tah thanked the President for the unwavering, strategic, and decisive support he provided throughout the entire electoral process.

Ould Tah assured His Excellency the President of his commitment to leading the African Development Bank with integrity, effectiveness, and a spirit of responsibility, all in service of the economic and social development of African countries.

Mauritania ‘s candidate, Mr. Sidi Ould Tah, was elected President of the African Development Bank today, securing a large and comfortable lead over his competitors.

It is worth noting that His Excellency the President of the Republic conducted extensive contacts and meetings with concerned African and international leaders throughout the campaign days to garner votes for Mauritania’s candidate.
