Government spokesperson: The Emergency Program is the Largest Program in the Country’s History

Nouakchott

In response to a question about the reception of HE President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazzouani yesterday to the Director General of Reporters Without Borders, the government spokesman said that the organization (the largest freedom assessment organization in the world) congratulated Mauritania on the ranking it obtained, stressing that HE the President expressed during the meeting his will to develop the field of journalism and promote freedoms, and welcomes all that would contribute to this.

Regarding the results of the Mauritanian-Egyptian joint committee held yesterday in Nouakchott, the Minister emphasized that the government will recover the library of Allama Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Etlamid from Egypt, as we will celebrate its return to the national library.

The draft law on industrial activity, which was approved by the government, consists of six main axes that seek to regulate and frame industrial activity by defining the conditions for establishment, monitoring and regulation and encouraging sustainable and comprehensive industrial development based on innovation and technology, in order to organize industrial units in our country, allowing industrial activity, said the Minister of Mines and Industry, Mr. Thiam Tidjani.

He added that the project seeks to strengthen the national economy by building industrial projects that provide permanent job opportunities and preserve the environment, in addition to promoting safety, as the law obliges industrial establishments to respect safety, while granting wide powers to the authorities to inspect, and the project seeks to facilitate procedures, licenses, and the development and establishment of industrial zones.

The Minister stressed that among the axes of the law is a special axis on industrial property, as the law provides for the protection of industrial and commercial property. The draft law also includes a special axis on the development of penalties, as it provides for penalties for those who operate in the industrial field without a license, in order to control the sector while preserving the safety of citizens and their environment.

He pointed out that the draft law comes in the context of implementing the President of the Republic’s “My Ambition for the Nation” program, which stated that only industry can be a lever for real economic transformation, which the government has worked to achieve since then, by framing the industrial sector within an integrated development vision.
