Minister of Agriculture returns from Brazil after Participating in a Forum on Food Security

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, H.E. Mr. Momma Ould Bibateh, returned to Nouakchott on Sunday evening from the Brazilian capital, Brasilia, after participating in the second Brazilian-African Dialogue Forum on Food Security and Fighting Hunger, held between May 19 and 23.
The forum witnessed the participation of 44 delegations from African countries, financial institutions and international and research organizations, and focused on exchanging experiences and promoting South-South cooperation, especially in the areas of supporting family farming and combating poverty and hunger.
On the sidelines of the forum, the minister held talks with a number of Brazilian officials on means of cooperation in the fields of agricultural research, training and human resources development, and benefiting from the Brazilian experience in supporting small producers.
The minister was accompanied by Mr. Adama Barry, technical advisor in charge of agricultural divisions and plant protection.
