Mauritania participates in 92nd OIE General Assembly

The Minister of Livestock, Mr. Moctar Ould Gaguih, participated on Sunday in the activities of the 92nd session of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) General Assembly, which is being held in the French capital from May 25 to 29.

The session will address key issues related to animal health at the global level, including vaccines, vaccination, and antibiotic resistance, in light of the growing challenges facing veterinary systems worldwide.

The Minister also participated in a high-level roundtable, which brought together ministers and experts from various FAO member states, during which they exchanged views on ways to improve the availability of veterinary vaccines and ensure their wide distribution, thus contributing to strengthening animal health security and ensuring livestock sustainability.

Mauritania’s participation in this session affirms its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the field of animal health, by keeping abreast of scientific and technical developments that serve the livestock sector and contribute to the prevention of transboundary animal epidemics.
