Foreign Minister chairs meeting of the AU Executive Council and the AU Commission Chairperson

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, chaired on Tuesday in Brussels a coordination meeting between Foreign Ministers, members of the African Union Executive Council (AUEC) and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).

The meeting comes within the framework of preparations for the third ministerial meeting of AU and EU foreign ministers scheduled for tomorrow in the Belgian capital, Brussels.

The ministerial meeting will assess the progress made in the implementation of the outcomes of the sixth AU-EU summit held in February 2022 in Brussels, especially the commitments made at the summit to strengthen the African European partnership in areas related to peace, security and sustainable development in its various dimensions.
