Employers’ Federation President discusses with the Senegalese Ambassador the Preparations for the Meeting of the Business Council of the Two Countries

The President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers, Mr. Mohamed Zine El Abidine Cheikh Ahmed, met this afternoon at his office with H.E. El Hadj Makt Sey, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to our country.

The meeting dealt with economic and trade relations between the private sectors in Mauritania and Senegal and ways to develop them and create effective partnerships between the two parties, especially in light of the ongoing preparations to hold the second session of the Mauritanian-Senegalese Business Council tomorrow, Thursday, in Nouakchott.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Federation welcomed the Ambassador and thanked him for his efforts to develop and strengthen economic and trade relations between the economic actors in the two countries.

He expressed his confidence in the ability of this council to come up with a clear vision with a dynamic action plan to push these relations steadily to the best levels.

The President expressed the readiness of the Union to accompany this council and overcome all obstacles that may hinder its work in order to achieve its objectives to serve the common interests of the two sides.

For his part, the Senegalese Ambassador stressed the importance of activating and strengthening economic relations and trade exchanges between the private sectors of the two countries, focusing on aspects that would improve these relations.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Leila Bouamatou, head of the Mauritanian side of the Joint Business Council, as well as the acting Secretary General of the Federation, Mr. Cheikh Ould Bouassria.
