The President of the Republic receives the credentials of the new Spanish ambassador

The President of the Republic, HE Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received, on Tuesday at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, the credentials of HE Mr. Pablo Barbara Gomez, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Republic granted the Spanish diplomat a reception attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Living Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug.

The new Spanish ambassador subsequently made the following statement to the Mauritanian News Agency: “I am pleased to present my credentials today to His Excellency the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

I hope to contribute to the consolidation and strengthening of the historic relations between Mauritania and Spain, in the service of the security and prosperity of both friendly countries.

I would like to thank the Mauritanian authorities for their warm welcome.
