Mauritania discusses the Presence of European Players in the Hydrogen Sector with a European Mission

The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Mohamed Ould Khaled, held a working session on Monday in Nouakchott with a European mission to discuss investment in the fields of energy, hydrogen and the construction of electrical networks.
The mission, which includes representatives from the European Union and the European Investment Bank, aims to strengthen ties with Mauritania, enhance the presence of European actors in the low-carbon hydrogen sectors, accelerate Mauritania’s energy transition, and promote electricity interconnections.
The meeting discussed the financing of the high voltage line between Nouakchott and the city of Nema, especially the section between Nouakchott and Aleg, which is funded by the European Investment Bank.
The meeting was attended on the Mauritanian side by the Secretary General of the Ministry, a number of sector managers and representatives of the Mauritanian Electricity Company Somalec, and on the European side by the Ambassador of the European Union accredited to our country, a delegation representing the European Investment Bank (EIB) and a delegation from the European Union Representation in our country.
