Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development receives the Japanese Ambassador to our Country

The Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Mrs. Messouda Baham Mohamed Laghdaf, received, on Thursday in her office in Nouakchott, the Ambassador of Japan to our country, His Excellency Mr. Uchida Tatsukuni.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance environmental cooperation between Mauritania and Japan, with a focus on confronting climate change, desertification, protecting biodiversity, addressing forest fires, and supporting reforestation initiatives.

Opportunities to benefit from Japans advanced expertise in the field of environmental technology were also reviewed, thus contributing to achieving sustainable development that enhances the resilience of ecosystems and conserves natural resources.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Technical Advisor in charge of Cooperation and Partnership, Mr. Mohamed Yahya Ould Lefdhal, and the Technical Advisor in charge of Communication and Environmental Education, Mrs. Nabila Dahmoud Merzough.
