Student Spokesman Praises Achievements Under the President of the Republic in the Field of Higher Education

The spokesman for university students student, Alassane Moussa Diallo, praised the remarkable achievements made at the level of the higher education and scientific research sector during the era of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, which had a significant impact on improving students‘ academic conditions and student life.
He added in a speech on behalf of the students during the breakfast held by the President of the Republic, on Thursday evening at the modern University of Nouakchott, that these achievements included a significant increase in the amount of the grant and the number of beneficiaries, the opening of university housing at full capacity, a significant improvement in university restaurant services, the transfer of students to and from campus and other places where there are institutions of higher education, the popularization of health insurance, the increase in teaching staff and supervision by subscribing batches of university professors, which raised the level of students and the quality of their training.
Alassane Moussa Diallo, a student at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, said that among the achievements was the establishment of higher education institutions in the interior provinces, which made it possible to diversify training options for students, enhance girls‘ access to higher education and reduce the burden of their training on their families, who had to travel to Nouakchott to enable their daughters, and in some cases their sons, to continue their studies.
He said that while reiterating to His Excellency the President of the Republic, his thanks and expressing gratitude for the care he gives to higher education and scientific research in general and for students in particular, he requests His Excellency to achieve some demands, including increasing the amount of the grant and circulating it to students, or at least generalizing social support, and free transportation of students throughout the national territory
