Mauritania Strongly condemns Renewed Israeli Attacks on the Gaza Strip

Nouakchott

The Mauritanian government has strongly condemned the renewed Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate ceasefire, respect for international resolutions, and the lifting of the blockade to deliver humanitarian aid.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, a copy of which was made available to the Mauritanian News Agency, the international community must assume its responsibilities to protect Palestinian civilians and resume mediation efforts to ensure a permanent ceasefire.

This is the text of the statement:

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad is following with great concern the renewed Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip, and the resulting heavy human and material losses, in flagrant violation of international law and the ceasefire agreement.

The Mauritanian government strongly condemns this dangerous escalation, calling for an immediate ceasefire, respect for international resolutions and the lifting of the blockade to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid.

It also calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities to protect Palestinian civilians, and to resume mediation efforts to ensure a permanent ceasefire.”
