First Lady presides over the International Women’s Day Ceremony

The First Lady Dr. Mariam Dah presided over Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Nouakchott, the commemoration of International Women’s Day, organised under the theme ‘Empowerment of women and girls is a safe tool for development’, at the Olympic Stadium in Nouakchott.
The ceremony included the honouring of some women, in recognition of their efforts in the economic, security and development fields, and the screening of a documentary film on the gains achieved by women during the presidency of HE President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani.
The ceremony also featured a lecture on the role of women in Islam, as well as praise performances.
The First Lady toured the pavilions of the exhibition of local dishes and products held on the sidelines of the ceremony.
