Nouakchott

On Tuesday at the Ministry’s premises, the Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Ms. Amal Maouloud, held talks with the Japanese Ambassador to Mauritania, Mr. Uchida Tatsukonifi, who was accompanied by a delegation from the CFAO Group, a subsidiary of the Japanese company Toyota.

The meeting is part of the sector’s efforts to enhance and diversify the sources of potable water production across the country.

The meeting was devoted to discussing the progress of the feasibility study being conducted by the CFAO Group to establish a seawater desalination plant in Nouadhibou with a capacity of 50,000 cubic metres per day, within the framework of Mauritanian-Japanese cooperation.

The two parties also discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation to include other projects, especially in areas of intervention in the sector.
