Economy Minister Signs Partnership Framework for the National Program for Development of Education Sector

On Monday in Nouakchott, The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid Ahmed Ould Bouh, signed with the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), coordinator of technical and financial partners for the education program, Mr. Kabir Alaoui, a partnership framework for the National Program for the Development of the Education Sector 2023-2030.

In a speech on the occasion, the Minister of Economy and Finance explained that Mauritania has put at the center of its attention the development of the education system.

The new partnership framework has been prepared to ensure an optimal implementation of the third phase of the National Program for the Development of the Education Sector, through the establishment of more appropriate mechanisms and bodies capable of ensuring effective coordination and efficiency of the components of this program.

He emphasized that reaching this stage reflects the effectiveness of the constructive dialogue between the Mauritanian government and its development partners, both financial and technical.

The representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), coordinator of the technical and financial partners of the education program, affirmed the partners’ support for the national program for the development of the education sector.

He praised the role of the Mauritanian government and the importance it attaches to this component.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and a number of sector leaders.
