President of the Republic, AU Chairman heads to Tanzania

H.E. President of the Republic and Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani left Nouakchott on Monday at dawn for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to participate in the African Energy Summit.

Upon his departure at Nouakchott International Oumtounsi  Airport, H.E. the President of the Republic was bid farewell by Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould  Diay, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdhaf, Ministers Advisors to the President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Abdallah Ould Osmane and Aissata Ba Yahya, Minister of Justice Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallah Ould Boye, Minister of Defense, Retired Persons Affairs and Children of Martyrs Hanana Ould Sidi, Minister of Interior, Decentralization and Local Development Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine, and Chief of Special Staff, Major General Ibrahim Vall El Cheibani, upon his departure

The summit, under the theme “Lighting Africa: The Transformative Power of Mission 300”, is an initiative of the African Development Bank Group and the World Bank Group in collaboration with the African Union, and aims to promote the ‘Mission 300’ initiative, which seeks to provide energy to 300 million people in Africa by 2030, contributing to overcoming the energy crisis affecting some 600 million Africans.

The President of the Republic is accompanied by an important delegation that includes Messrs:

– Nani Ould Shrougha, Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic.

– Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh, Minister of Economy and Finance

– Mohamed Ould Khaled, Minister of Energy and Petroleum

– Khadija M’barek Vall, Mauritania’s ambassador and delegate to the African Union.

– El Hassan Ould Ahmed, Director General of State Honors.
