President of Republic Launches Youth and Sports Component of Nouakchott’s Emergency Development Program

On Thursday, in Nouakchott West, HE President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazwani launched the youth and sports component of the emergency program for the development of the city of Nouakchott.
HE the President of the Republic listened to detailed explanations about the Youth and Sports Component, which will enable young people to have access to decent sports facilities to practice a variety of sports.
The component, which has a budget of 230 million new ounces, includes the construction of a 1000-seat semi-Olympic swimming pool, the first of its kind in the country, and the construction and equipping of stadiums in the districts of Sebkha and El Mina.
It also includes the construction of a 600-seat multi-purpose hall, the first covered sports hall of its kind in the country, and the rehabilitation of the Youth House in Sebkha.
in a speech delivered during the launch of the emergency program for the development of Nouakchott city,, the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Employment, Sports and Civil Service, Mr. Mohamed Abdallahi Ould Louli, stressed that the youth empowerment locomotive has been launched, noting that the youth and sports component launched today is an exception in terms of quantity and time in which it was completed.
He said that after completing the processing of the reports of the regional forums for participatory development planning, his sector will develop a special plan for the interior wilayas.
He stressed that youth remained at the forefront of attention in the program of His Excellency the President of the Republic “My Ambition for the Nation”, where he made youth empowerment a central priority, and this was reflected in the general policy speech of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister El Moctar Ould Djay and the government adopted an integrated multi-pronged approach to youth empowerment.
The Minister reviewed the sector’s achievements in the field of employment, training and project financing, as well as in the field of youth and sports infrastructure.
