On 14 January, in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and President of the Supreme Judicial Council, presided over the swearing-in ceremony of three members of the Constitutional Council.
The President of the Republic invited the three members, Leebad Ould El Ghassem, Teyib Ould Mahmoud, and Outhmane Moussa Thiam, to take the following oath:
‘I swear by Allah The Almighty to perform my duties with devotion and to exercise them impartially in respect of the Constitution, to keep the deliberations and votes confidential, to avoid taking any solemn position, and to refrain from giving an opinion on matters within the Council’s remit.’
