Health Minister participates via Video in the Meeting of his African Counterparts

The Minister of Health, Mr. Abdallah Ould Wedih, participated, on Tuesday, via video conference, in the emergency meeting of African Ministers of Health.

The meeting, which is being held under the auspices of the World Health Organization (WHO), aims to discuss the selection of the new WHO Regional Director for Africa, following the vacancy following the death of the previous Director, Dr Faustine Engelbert Ndugulile

During the meeting, ministers will discuss the health challenges facing the continent, including strengthening health systems, combating infectious diseases and achieving universal health coverage within the framework of the World Health Organization’s vision.

In addition to the Minister of Health, the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mrs. El Aliya Mint Yahya Menkous, the Director General of Public Health, the Director of Planning and Cooperation, and the Coordinator of the National Education Program for Health participated in this meeting.
