MWL’s Initiative for Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies Conference Concludes With Islamabad Declaration, Launch of Platform for International Partnerships

The International Conference of the Muslim World League Initiative for Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies concluded today, Sunday, in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, with the launch of the “Islamabad Declaration for Girls’ Education,” which received a historic endorsement from leading Ummah scholars, Islamic jurisprudence councils, representatives of international organizations, governmental and private academic institutions, and global activists, with the launch of a platform for international partnerships “the executive arm of the initiative” with more than 20 global agreements and commitments, signed by several leading scholars and heads of Islamic councils and institutions, United Nations organizations, leaders of international organizations and institutions, and researchers.

The declaration and launch of the platform were overseen by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, representatives of the government and parliament of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the sponsor of the MWL’s initiative for girls’ education in Muslim societies, a number of Their Eminence, Their Excellencies, senior Muftis and scholars of the Islamic world, members of the boards and councils of scholars and Islamic jurisprudential councils, the global activist for girls’ education Ms. Malala Yousafzai, and several ministers of education and higher education in Islamic countries, the Association of Islamic Universities and the platform.
