Jeddah (UNA) – On Thursday, the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), in the presence of His Excellency the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha.
The memorandum was signed as part of the eighth annual meeting of the organization’s institutions, held in Jeddah over two days, December 4-5, 2024.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Union by its Director General, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbah Al-Yami, while on behalf of SESRIC, it was signed by the Director General of the Center, Zahra Murad Selcuk.
The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation between the two OIC bodies in the areas of training and capacity building for human resources in relevant institutions across OIC member states.
It also aims to promote knowledge and research exchange between the two sides, as well as the media dissemination of statistics and studies related to the economic, social, and cultural fields in the Islamic world.
