Mauritania’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden presents his credentials

H.E. Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Brahim Ekhlil presented on Wednesday his credentials to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Kingdom of Sweden, based in Brussels.

In an audience on the occasion, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of H.E. President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf. Besides, he briefed him on the efforts undertaken by H.E. President of the Republic in the framework of his current mission as rotating Chairman of the African Union.

Speaking about the situation in several regions of the world, His Majesty praised the role played by Mauritania in the fight against terrorism and clandestine migration, saying that the wars and hotbeds of tension in the world today are deeply worrying and threaten the future of humanity as a whole, requiring leaders to enforce international law and United Nations resolutions.

His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf expressed his country’s desire to develop relations with Mauritania, which is characterized by its geographical location and diverse investment opportunities, especially in the field of clean energy.

At the end of the meeting, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf asked the Ambassador to convey to HE the President of the Republic his greetings and wishes him and the Mauritanian people further progress and prosperity.
