UAE Embassy in Nouakchott celebrates the country’s National Day

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Mauritania held a reception yesterday evening in Nouakchott on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of Union Day, the National Day of the United Arab Emirates.

The government was represented by the Minister of Justice Mohamed Mahmoud Cheikh Abdoullah Ould Boya, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad; the Minister of Economy and Finance Sid Ahmed Ould Bouh; Advisor to the Prime Minister in charge of Political Affairs Ms. Hindou Bint Aynina, and Ambassador Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Mr. Bal Mohamed Lehbib.

In a speech on the occasion, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates accredited to our country, HE Hamad Ghanem Hamad AlMehairi, praised the strong and historical fraternal relations between the two countries, noting that these relations have recently reached the highest levels.

He said that his country has accompanied the financing of many basic infrastructure projects and public facilities in various fields in Mauritania, expressing sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who contributed to strengthening relations between the UAE and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and that his country looks forward to continuing this fruitful cooperation in the coming years.

He stressed that the UAE represents a bridge of communication, peace and tolerance between peoples and cultures, and that the values of tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood will remain fundamental pillars in its endeavors and work with all those who aspire to achieve prosperity and sustainable development throughout the world.

The ceremony was attended by a namber of figures of the Foreign Affaires Ministry including Mr. Mohamed El Hanchi El Kettab, Ambassador and Director General of the Bilateral Cooperation Directorate; Mr. Omar Ahmed Babou, Ambassador and Director General of the Arab World Department; Mr. Mohamed Babe Ely Mahmoud, Ambassador and Director of Protocol, and a number of members of the diplomatic corps in Mauritania and national figures.
