Minister of Defense receives the Shield of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition

Minister of Defense, and pensionners ‘s Affairs of Retired Persons and Sons of Martyrs, Hanana Ould Sidi, received from the Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Major General Pilot Mohammed bin Saeed al-Moghedi, a commemorative shield in recognition of the pioneering role played by Mauritania in the fight against terrorism in the Sahel region.

This came at the end of a scientific seminar entitled “The Role of Media in Fighting Terrorism”, organized by the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), on Monday at the Palais des Congrès in Nouakchott, on the sidelines of the launching ceremony of its program in the Sahel countries.

On the same occasion, a number of shields were distributed to the heads of the sessions organized within the activities of the symposium.

The symposium included several themes presented by experts in the field of media that dealt with the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing digital media, the challenges facing the media in fighting terrorism and its role in forming public opinion to fight terrorism.

It also addressed the importance of cooperation between the media and governments in the fight against terrorism, as well as media ethics in covering terrorist events.
