President of Republic Inaugurates New Ore Transport Line in Nouadhibou

On 29 November, in Nouadhibou, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, inaugurated a new ore transport line to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the National Independence Day.

During the ceremony, the President of the Republic cut the symbolic ribbon of this project and unveiled its commemorative plaque, marking the start of its operation.

His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouan then visited SNIM’s facilities and was briefed on iron ore transport procedures and the advantages of the new plant.

The General Manager of SNIM also presented to the President of the Republic the different characteristics of the project and the different stages of exploitation of the ore, starting with its extraction from the Wilaya of Tiris Zemmour, through its transport by train to Nouadhibou to its export abroad, as well as the advantages offered by the company’s new facility thanks to its increased loading capacity and speed.
