On 17 November, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union (AU), left Nouakchott for Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) to attend the 19th Group of Twenty (G20) Summit, to be held on 18 and 19 November 2024.
Upon his departure from Nouakchott Oumtounsi International Airport, the President of the Republic was greeted by Mr. Moctar Ould Diay, the Prime Minister, Mr. Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdhaf, the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdallahi Ould Othmane and Ms. Aichata Ba Yahia, the Minister Counselors at the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Hanana Ould Sidi, the Minister of National Defense, Retirees, and Children of Martyrs, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lamine, the Minister of Interior, Promotion of Decentralization, and Local Development, Ms. Gandega Fatimata, the Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, Mr. M’Rabih Rabou Ould Bounena Ould Abidine, the Wali of Nouakchott Ouest, and Ms. Fatimetou Mint Abdelmalek, the President of the Nouakchott Region.
Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani is accompanied by a large delegation comprising Messrs.:
