President of the Republic The President of the African Union returns to Nouakchott from Baku after participating in the COP29 climate summit

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Chairman of the African Union, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, returned Wednesday evening to Nouakchott, from Baku (the capital of Azerbaijan), after participating in the twenty-ninth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

Upon his arrival at Nouakchott International Airport the President of the Republic was received by Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Djay, Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic Moulay Ould Mohamed Laghdhaf, Presidential Advisors Mohamed Ould Abdou Othmane and Aichata Ba Yahia, Minister of Justice Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallah Ben Bayyah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Defence, the National and Retirees and Martyrs’ Children Affairs, Mr. Hanan Ould Sidi, and His Excellency the Minister of the Interior, Decentralization Promotion and Local Development, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lamine, , the Chief of Special Staff of the President of the Republic, Lieutenant General Isleko Ould Cheikh El Weli, the Assistant Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, Gandega Fatimata, the Governor of Nouakchott West, Mr. Mrabih Rabbou Ould Bounnena Ould Abidine, and the President of the Nouakchott Region, Fatimettou bint Abdelmalek.
