Algerian Embassy in Nouakchott commemorates 70th Anniversary of Liberation Revolution

The Algerian embassy in Nouakchott organized a reception on Thursday evening in Nouakchott on the occasion of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian liberation revolution in Al-Fateh in November 1954 under the slogan: “Glorious November is loyalty and renewal”.

The government was represented at the ceremony by Minister of Justice Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallahi Ould Boye, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Yacoub Ould Moine, Minister of Energy and Oil Mohamed Ould Khaled and Ambassador and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Ball Mohamed El Habib.

In his speech on the occasion, His Excellency the Algerian Ambassador to Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ben Attou, said that they remember on this day, with pride, the great sacrifices made by the Algerian people in their struggle against French colonialism, and their bitter struggle to restore their sovereignty and dignity, stressing that this day is an occasion to renew the covenant with the righteous martyrs of Algeria and their heroism, draw lessons from their exploits, and affirm their determination to continue the path of construction and construction of Algeria, which was dreamed of by those who gave their lives for the homeland.

HE the Algerian Ambassador noted the level and depth of bilateral relations between Algeria and Mauritania and the strengthening of distinguished cooperation relations and fraternal ties rooted in history, as the year 2024 in the two countries was marked by the holding of presidential elections, the results of which resulted in renewed confidence in the leaders of the two countries for a second term, stressing that by renewing confidence in the leaders of the two countries, the political will expressed in their repeated meetings is renewed, the latest of which was the visit of His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani to Algeria. To attend the military parade and to participate in Algeria’s celebrations of the seventieth anniversary of the Al-Fateh Revolution of November 1954.

In this context, the Ambassador praised the distinguished initiatives and efforts made by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, Rotating Chairman of the African Union, in order to defend the interests of the continent, find solutions to its problems, represent it honorably in international fora, and contribute to promoting African integration and integration.

 

He added that bilateral relations have been translated into the economic aspect in the continuous increase in trade and investment exchanges by more than 150%, making Algeria the first African partner of Mauritania, in addition to the launch of several important projects such as the opening of the Algerian Bank in Mauritania and the Permanent Products Exhibition.
