President of Republic, AU Chairman, Receives Senegal’s Foreign Affairs Minister

On 5 November, in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, received Ms. Yacine Fall, the Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Senegal.

The talks discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields, intensifying coordination, and examining current developments at regional and international levels.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Fall expressed her gratitude to the President of the Republic for the audience on the sidelines of the Senegal-Mauritania Grand Joint Cooperation Commission’s meeting. She was also delighted by the warm welcome and hospitality extended to her and the accompanying delegation, reflecting the depth of the fraternal and cooperative relations between the two brotherly countries.

She recalled that Senegal and Mauritania enjoy close relations, embodied by the new strategic partnership, covering gas, oil, and other projects.

She added that the meeting aims to achieve the tangible and strategic results to which we aspire for the benefit of the two peoples.

At the end of the session, the two sides signed several agreements against migrant smuggling, sports, telecommunications, and other areas of common interest.
