Nouakchott

The Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament, Mr. Houssein Ould Medou, received yesterday in Nouakchott a group of Mauritanian and French researchers in the field of archaeology.

The group is affiliated with the Mauritanian Institute for Research and Training in Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, the University of Nouakchott and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).

The two sides are currently working on the resumption of scientific research in the field of historical archaeology at the Azouki site, which began some time ago.

This research aims to uncover aspects of the history of the Almoravids at the Azouki site in Adrar.
