Mauritania participates in Extraordinary Session of Arab League Council at Level of Permanent Delegates

Cairo

The Council of the League of Arab States, at the level of permanent delegates, held on Tuesday in Cairo an extraordinary session on Arab and international action to stop the crimes of genocide, forced displacement and ethnic cleansing committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.
In his speech on the occasion, Mauritania’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, H.E. Al Hussein Sidi Abdallah Dih, stressed the need for effective action to immediately stop Israel’s hideous war of extermination in both occupied Palestine and Lebanon, to spare the region from further crisis and tension.
H.E the Ambassador pointed out that this session is taking place at a time when the Palestinian people are experiencing a level of brutal practices that is unprecedented in human history, noting that this genocidal war has developed and expanded with catastrophic results, yet the international community is in a state of inaction and indifference, as if it is not concerned with the matter.
In the face of this situation, he  also said that the legal and moral responsibility of the international system must be emphasized to respect the general covenants and principles it has adopted to maintain peace and security in the world and for all peoples.
