President of Republic, AU Chairman, Arrives in Tripoli

On 10 October, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union (AU), arrived in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, on a working visit during which he will lead an AU High-Level Committee on Libya in the framework of the Brazzaville Appeal to accelerate the peace and reconciliation process in this country.

Upon his arrival at Tripoli International Airport from Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), the President of the Republic was received by Mr. Tahar El Baour, the Chargé d’affaires of the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, HE Mr. Mohamed Ould Bebana, the Ambassador of Mauritania in Tripoli, and the staff of our diplomatic mission in Libya.

The President of the Republic and chairman of the African Union received an honorary salute from military detachments and listened to the national anthem played to mark his arrival.

Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani is accompanied by a large delegation including:

– Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, the Minister in charge of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic,

– Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad,

– H Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh, the Minister of Economy and Finance,

– Ms. Khadijetou M’bareck Fall, Mauritania’s Ambassador in Addis Ababa, and

– Mr. El Hacen Ould Ahmed, the Director General of State Protocol.
