Minister of Justice Receives IMF Mission

On 10 October, in Nouakchott, Minister of Justice Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallah Ben Boye received a mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), currently visiting Mauritania, led by Mr. Felix Fischer.

At the start of the meeting, the head of the mission praised the Mauritanian government’s diagnosis of governance and efforts to combat corruption, the reforms underway in this area, and the level of openness to partners and the public.

The Minister reviewed the reforms undertaken by his department in the legislative fields, notably the revision of anti-corruption laws and the declaration of assets, reforms to the business climate, and the creation of a National Anti-Corruption Agency.
