The delegation is visiting Mauritania in partnership with the Observatoire des Migrations et des Communautés de la Côte Atlantique to organize a seminar on cultural diplomacy and relations between Mauritania and Spain.

The Minister discussed with the Spanish delegation ways of developing Spain-Mauritania’s relations and the role played by the elites of both countries in developing these age-old relations.

The Minister highlighted the importance attached by Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, to these relations, which has led to the strengthening of the partnership between the two countries in various fields in recent years, concretized by mutual visits at the highest level.

Mr. Houssein Ould Meddou appreciated the willingness of the Spanish elite to strengthen the partnership with Mauritanian institutions, particularly at the cultural level, stressing that this cooperation should cover scientific research, culture, arts, and media.
