The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Ismael Ould Cheikh Ahmed, participated Sunday, via videoconference, in the emergency meeting of the executive committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the level of ministers of foreign affairs.
The meeting, which was held at the request of Saudi Arabia, discussed the bloody events and Israeli aggressions in Palestinian territories, particularly Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
In a speech on this occasion, the minister of foreign affairs reiterated Mauritania’s condemnation of all the Israeli attacks in all occupied Palestinian territories, particularly Al-Quds Al-Sharif and the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In this regard, the minister called the organization to adopt a mechanism for the protection of the Palestinian people, its sanctities, lives, and properties.
He reaffirmed Mauritania’s position on the Palestinian cause that calls for a fair and permanent solution that end the suffering of the Palestinian people by establishing a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders.
