Prime Minister meets with Heads of Companies and Expertise Offices in Charge of the Execution and Monitoring of Public Works

As part of the effective monitoring of the implementation of national development projects, and on the direct instructions of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Diay held, on Thursday, a meeting with the heads of companies and expertise offices in charge of the execution and monitoring of public works and projects carried out within the framework of national development programs.

Addressing these officials, the Prime Minister stressed that the government will activate control and monitoring mechanisms in order to implement the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, aimed at accelerating the pace of implementation of development programs in our country by activating the policy of strict monitoring of the implementation of national development projects.

He stressed that the government will strictly apply this mechanism in order to carry out these projects on time and in accordance with the technical specifications and requirements required, noting that the implementation of some of these projects suffers from unacceptable imbalances, and that it is high time to remedy these dysfunctions.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that all departments are required to monitor, control and evaluate development projects by adopting a close monitoring mechanism that uses performance indicators as a basis for evaluation.

The meeting took place in the presence of ministers from the departments concerned, the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, Mrs. Aicha Vall Verges, advisors to the Prime Minister and the president of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers.
