President of Republic Meets UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for West Africa, Sahel

On 1 August, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, met with Mr. Leonardo Santos Simao, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for West Africa and the Sahel.

The UN official extended the congratulations of the UN Secretary General to the President of the Republic on the occasion of his swearing-in as President of the Republic for a second term.

For his part, His Excellency the President expressed his thanks and appreciation to the head of the UN delegation for his presence at this event, marking the renewal of the democratic cycle in the country.
