2024 Presidential Elections: Candidate Mamadou Bocar Ba Chairs Electoral Meeting in Rosso

On 24 June, Mr. Mamadou Bocar Ba, the candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, held an electoral meeting with some of his supporters in Rosso.

In his speech, the candidate of the Alliance for Justice and Democracy/Renewal Movement emphasized vigilance regarding the transparency of the vote, calling on his supporters to intensify door-to-door efforts to mobilize as many voters as possible in the town of Rosso and monitor the polling stations on voting day.

He renewed his firm desire to initiate a profound reform of the overall management of state affairs based on equality, solidarity, justice, and equity.

Outlining his vision of the change he intends to advocate, Mamadou Bocar Ba particularly denounced what he describes as ‘linguistic discrimination’ which deprives sections of the Mauritanian population of a fundamental right to cultural expression.

He also deplored the non-consensual confiscation of agricultural land and the administrative hassles in obtaining civil status documents.
