Foreign Minister Receives EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Security Policy

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Ismael Ould Cheikh Ahmed, received Thursday Mr. Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who is currently visiting our country.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the deep relations of cooperation between our country and the European Union and the vital role played by the EU in supporting the G5 Sahel and boosting stability, security, and development in the Sahel region.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Sid Ahmed Dié, secretary general of the ministry, Mr. Abdellahi Kebed, our ambassador to Belgium, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Sidaty, ambassador in charge of special duties at the prime minister’s cabinet, Mr. Abd Elkader ahmedou, ambassador, legal advisor at prime minister’s cabinet, Mr. Mohamed lemine Moulaye Ely, ambassador, director general of the multilateral cooperation department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mme Fatou Hamoud, ambassador, manager of the EU department at the ministry of foreign affairs.
