2024 Presidential Elections: Candidate Biram Dah Abeid Chairs Electoral Meeting in Aleg

On 23 June,  Mr. Biram Dah Abeid, the candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, chaired in Aleg (Brakna), an electoral meeting as part of the campaign leading to the presidential elections of 29 June 2024, welcoming the mass arrival of his supporters, thanking them for their mobilization, before presenting his electoral program.

“The ruling regime has failed to implement its development programs for the country,” he said, listing some of the problems facing the population, such as rising food prices, lack of jobs and employment opportunities, and migration. He accused the regime of “killing the citizens” with the high cost of living, lack of education and health care, and the thirst crisis. He presented himself as “the hope of young people, women, and all Mauritanians”, calling on everyone to go early on polling day, 29 June, to vote for him and monitor the polling stations to protect them against what he called “fraud.”

Ould Abeid called on everyone to cooperate and join hands to build a rule of law, criticizing the statements of the manager of the campaign of candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

Sunday morning, the 2024 presidential candidate went to the locality of Sar Ndoug (Boghe), where he presented his electoral program to the residents of the locality. He also visited the village of Afwende under Bababe in Brakna, where he stressed the importance of change, mentioning the problems that the populations are experiencing and calling on everyone to help him in his project by voting for him on election day.

The candidate also went to the Moughataa of M’bagne where he presented to the inhabitants the broad outlines of his program, stressing that he will continue his fight so that everyone obtains what is rightfully theirs.
