On 19 June, in Zouerate, Mr. Hamadi Sidi Mokhtar Mohamed Abdi, the candidate for the 2024 presidential election, chaired an electoral evening, the fifth of its kind at the national level since the start of the electoral campaign for the 29 June elections.
During this evening, which brought together his supporters and sympathizers, the candidate reviewed the broad outlines of his electoral program. “Tiris-Zemmour has suffered enough from marginalization and injustice, despite its economic potential,” he said, stressing that the Wilaya’s mineral wealth has not helped it provide the most basic services, such as water, electricity, or even health, promising to change the situation after winning the next elections. He added that young people play an important role, because they are the living and reliable energy in the construction of the country, calling on them to intensify their efforts to win the election in the first round, considering what he described as “rampant corruption in the joints of the State” is the root of the problems experienced and that any serious renaissance requires eradicating this evil. He emphasized that his project fights against corruption and corrupters.
Mr. Mohamed Ould Saleck, campaign director of the candidate in Tiris-Zemmour, indicated that “the town of Zouerate suffers from several problems, notably the lack of water, electricity, and health, calling on the inhabitants of the city to prepare well, to mobilize and coordinate for the success of the candidate, to satisfy all the urgent demands of the citizen,” he said.
He recalled the important interventions of the National Rally for Reform and Development (Tawassoul), calling on all citizens to choose the right candidate.
The residents of Zouerate organized a warm popular welcome for the candidate at the entrance to the city, brandishing photos of the candidate.
