Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani kicks off his Campaign in Nouakchott

On Friday 14 June, the candidate for the June 2024 presidential elections, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazwani, confirmed that he will launch an agricultural revolution to achieve self-sufficiency in the field of food security, by launching many projects in this field, in addition to developing the utilization of the animal wealth, so that we can export the meat abroad and achieve sufficiency in dairy products.

He added that he will establish a delegation for the promotion of youth, with full powers to manage the youth file in all its dimensions, and will launch ambitious programs for youth employment, reforming the vocational training sector and developing higher education, as well as programs to integrate youth in vital sectors such as fishing and agriculture.

He promised to reform the pension system and improve workers’ salaries whenever conditions allow, especially in the field of education, security and health, pledging to fight corruption, “as I will not have anyone who extends his hand to public money, no matter who it is, and we will not take any consideration in this,” the candidate said.

He also added that security is a red line and will be a priority, and there will be no retreat from the social policy for the lowest income groups, nor the republican school, until there are equal opportunities in access to education, stressing that there will also be no retreat from political calm and preserving freedom to consolidate democracy, promising to organize a dialogue or consultation that includes everyone.

The candidate described his electoral program as the most realistic and implementable of all the candidates’ programs, as it is an ambitious program that seeks to build a country based on justice and equality, and provide them with decent living conditions depending on their arms, calling for voting for him in abundance, and for a clean campaign that respects the competitors because they are brothers first and foremost.

He also highlighted the achievements made during his previous term, which included several fields (health, education, economy, infrastructure, water and electricity) in addition to political calm and social interventions, where more than 1.5 million citizens benefited from the interventions carried out by Taazour, and more than 100 thousand families benefited from health insurance.
