Candidate Mohamed Lamine El Murtaji El Wafi opens his election Campaign in Nema

Candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, Mohamed Lamine El Murtaji El Wafi, opened his campaign for the June 29 elections on Friday at dawn in his hometown of Nouma, the capital of the Wilaya of the Hodh Sharghi.
In a speech on the occasion, the candidate, who is running in the presidential race for the second time after the 2019 elections, swore by the Book of God Almighty to honesty and sincerity in running the country, if elected, calling on other candidates to follow his example if their intentions are sincere in reforming the country.

Ould El Wafi called on the educated and industrious youth who are able to stand up to injustice without fear of harming their interests or being dismissed from work, to take up politics and work to return political practice to its correct path to save society and provide a helping hand to the orphan, the needy and vulnerable groups in general, instead of satisfying the personal needs of some, regretting that the practice of politics has become a stigma due to its flattery and lies.

He pointed out that it was the elite who were exchanging positions and controlling the country’s resources without taking into account the vast majority of the people, calling on the people to change that stereotype and overcome it by voting for those who represent them and live and know their reality, he said.

The candidate urged his supporters to follow the example of the Senegalese people in voting for a young president who feels their needs, considering that the decision is in their hands to take the initiative, be optimistic and not feel hopeless.

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, Ould El Wafi welcomed the audience in this difficult climate, especially the female element, and apologized to his campaign staff in Nouakchott for not adhering to the opening program in Nouakchott, explaining that “the difficult conditions in the city of Naama” prompted him to open his campaign from there.

The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the candidate’s campaign manager and staff and his supporters.
