President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, inspects new Models of Weapons and Military Equipment
His Excellency, the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, paid a visit on Sunday to inspect and review models of military equipment recently acquired within the framework of modernizing the structure of the various land, air and naval armies.
Upon his arrival in the Sixth Military Region(the headquarters of military equipment), His Excellency the President of the Republic was received by the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Hanana Ould Sidi, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armies, the Chief of Staff of the National Gendarmerie, the Assistant Commander of the General Staff of the Armies, the Chief of Staff of the Land Army and the Special Forces, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and the Chief of Staff of the National Navy.
After that, His Excellency the President of the Republic, accompanied by His Excellency the Minister of National Defense and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armies, reviewed units of the National Army that gave them the salute of honor, before His Excellency the President of the Republic shook hands with a number of commanders of staff, divisions and directorates at the General Staff of the Armies.
His Excellency the President of the Republic and his accompanying delegation were given detailed explanations by the Chief of Staff of the Land Army and Special Forces, on the technical characteristics of the models included in the visit, and the objective of acquiring this advanced arsenal of military equipment, which is to modernize the structure of the various land, air and naval armies dictated by the current geostrategic challenges in the subregion and the world.
After the end of the presentation, His Excellency the President of the Republic and his accompanying delegation made an inspection tour that included the various models displayed.
The acquisition of the new materiel will make it possible to increase the operational level of the various land, air and naval armies.
The new arsenal consists of, but not limited to, armoured units, field artillery, anti-armor, anti-aircraft units, radar stations, reconnaissance and attack drones of very high effectiveness capable of covering the entire national territory, including territorial waters, at any time.
