First Group of Mauritanian Pilgrims leaves for Holy Land

The first group of Mauritanian pilgrims left Nouakchott last night for the Holy Land in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to perform the Hajj for the Hijri year 1445/2024.
The number of this group is 420 out of 3,500 pilgrims who will head successively over a period of 7 days to Medina.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Indigenous Education, head of the pilgrims’ delegation, Mr. Beitallah Ould Ahmed Lasoud, toured the pilgrims of the first group inside the plane and listened to their observations on the measures taken.
The Secretary-General said, in a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency (WAMA), that he came today to the airport to bid farewell to the first group of our pilgrims and to ensure the measures taken to ensure the smooth flow of the voyage process, stressing that it went according to the plan drawn as this regiment was completed and no problem or delay was recorded for any pilgrim.
He stressed that the ministry is working hard to improve the conditions of pilgrims in implementation of the instructions of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, pointing out that the Hajj this year was carried out through very high information technology, and the pilgrims were selected in a transparent manner.
He pointed out that the pilgrims carry with their tickets their room numbers in Medina, explaining that it has been contracted with distinguished Saudi institutions in housing, where the residences of Mauritanian pilgrims are located near the Two Holy Mosques, and there is a camp for Mauritanian pilgrims in Mina, and for the first time, near the site of throwing the Jamarat, which is about four hundred meters away from it.
For his part, the Assistant Director General of the National Civil Aviation Agency, Mr. Bab Ahmed Ould Mohamed Ould Bab Ahmed, explained that the departure of this first group comes as part of the process of transporting pilgrims this season through seven flights, five of which are for the public sector and two for private flights.
He said that these aircraft were inspected by safety inspectors of the National Civil Aviation Agency, and the maintenance workshops of these aircraft were directly inspected by safety inspectors and the results of the inspection were good.
A number of pilgrims told the Mauritanian News Agency their satisfaction with all the measures taken to make this season a success, stressing that the plan followed this year helped the pilgrims to smooth the process and provide all travel requirements comfortably.
