OHCHR: “Himayati” Platform is a Modern Means and an Essential Pillar for Advocating for the Promotion, Protection and Defense of Human Rights

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action and Relations with Civil Society has launched a digital platform, “Himayati”, to receive and address complaints related to possible human rights violations.
In a statement issued on Sunday evening, a copy of which was received by the Mauritanian News Agency, the Commission explained that this digital platform comes in implementation of the high directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, aimed at promoting and protecting human rights in the country, and in an effort to develop a unified and integrated system for managing complaints and grievances that lives up to the aspirations of citizens.
She added that this digital platform, which falls within the framework of bringing administrative services closer to citizens, constitutes a modern means and an essential pillar to advocate for the promotion, protection and defense of human rights, by providing an open and permanent space, which facilitates citizens to submit their complaints and grievances wherever they are, and enables them to download documents and supporting data in record time, saves effort and costs and secures the tracking process with the concerned authorities, a way to reach appropriate solutions, In addition to being an effective tool to enhance communication and interaction between the administration and the citizen, whose opinion is a priority and an effective means to evaluate the performance of administrative work and improve the quality of services provided in this regard.
In its statement, the Commission reiterated the government’s determination to move forward in promoting and protecting human rights in the country and addressing all forms of related violations, and its permanent readiness to work with actors and partners in the field with the aim of promoting the concept of citizenship and the rule of law and institutions, indicating that the platform can be accessed via the following link:
